5 A Day Challenge! 

Eat 5 or more servings of fruit and vegetables everyday,
for better health!

Fruits & vegetables are the cornerstone of a healthy diet. They're packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and honest satisfaction.

Why better health from 5 a day? Because eating 5-9 servings of fruits and veggies everyday helps reduce your risk of chronic disease (like diabetes and some cancers), high blood pressure, and overweight and obesity.

Plus, better health is one of the best ways you can help control health care costs!

So, what's the point? Believe it or not, only about one-quarter (1/4) of NYS adults eat 5 or more servings of fruit and vegetables every day. That says 3-out-of-4 of us are passing up one of the easiest things we can do to fight against serious health problems.

Here's the challenge: Move up to 5 A Day for better health. Better health not just for you; for you, for those who count on you, and for those you count on.

What you get with the 5 A Day Challenge:

  • Find out how many servings of fruit and veggies you eat now. It may be easier than you think to move up to 5 a day
  • Try new vegetables you may not have eaten before
