COVID-19 Data for Tompkins County

Data iconWHILE the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have lessened, the virus continues to circulate throughout the community. The graph below gives residents and visitors a quick overview of the current state of  the COVID-19 disease in Tompkins County using data from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).

Since the start of the pandemic, the COVID-19 dashboard has informed the community about disease prevalence. Our dashboard has been revised throughout the course of the pandemic as dataset availability and relevance changed.

Our data dashboard shows the total positive weekly counts of new Antigen and PCR tests that are reported to NYSDOH, which means these tests were conducted at a healthcare facility and/or submitted to laboratories for processing. The data from this processing is recorded in the Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System, a NYSDOH database. Self-tests results are not included in these counts, therefore it is safe to assume that case counts are likely higher than what is being reported.

Self-tests (at home tests) are not being reported to any official entity. Our local reporting tool was discontinued in December 2022.

This graph will be refreshed every Monday (Tuesday after a holiday) and will show NYSDOH data dated 2 Sundays prior.
