To All Employees;
You may have heard talk about how eating
less fat and more fruits and vegetables, and being more
physically active can help people feel healthier and
more productive.
The hard part is making the changes.
We have to find time in our day for a walk, or take
extra steps for a healthier snack or meal when fast
and easy is the first concern.
The Tompkins County Health Department
(TCHD) is looking at how people can address these concerns
at their worksite. The goal is to help employees
with an interest in healthy eating and physical activity
find encouragement and support
at work.
TCHD is looking to worksites for ideas
and we’ve been invited to participate. If you have ideas
about how to make our worksite more supportive of a
healthy lifestyle, jot them down! We’ll take 3 or 4
ideas and actually try them out here at our worksite.
The more suggestions the better, so please join in!
Staff members from the Health Department’s Health Promotion
Program will be working with us on this.
For a start, look
over the
[attached] survey. The
questions will give you a better
sense of the kind of ideas we want.
Your answers will help us understand
where your interests lie. Please
take a minute to complete the survey
today and give it to your supervisor.
To keep your answers anonymous
please do not sign the survey.
Write your ideas and suggestions
on the back of the page.
Thanks for your interest and input!
