Imagine
Action has paired up with a new program from the Tompkins
County Health Department called Physical
Activity Counts (PAC). Although the 2 programs are very
similar, there is one significant difference: the PAC program is
"customizable." That means everyone can customize PAC
to fit into their life.
Physical
Activity (PA) is everywhere, and everyone finds it in different
places. PA can be walking, or biking, or stretching, or working
in the yard. It can be done at work, at home, or while shopping.
Physical activity can be with your kids, your dog, your partner,
your co-workers, or by yourself. You might be surprised to find
PA in daily chores, routine office work, or the way you wind down.
The
most important thing to know is, no matter where you find
PA, or what it looks like, all physical activity counts!
That's where PAC and Imagine Action... Your Way! come in.
Challenge yourself, or a buddy, or form teams at your worksite.
Use the PAC personal scoresheet
to tally points for the physical activity you do.
Set
goals by the day, week or month. Track your personal improvement,
better your buddy, or pit team total against team total. Then put
up a prize: lunch out, pizza in, silly stuff or gag gifts.
Try
different activities, and fit in different routines. Minimize
your frustration and maximize your flexibility. As long as you're
moving, you can't fail. To learn more about how to use the PAC scoresheet,
