The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) prioritizes funding for State and Local governments, schools, and non-profit organizations working to create jobs and foster economic development and environmentally sustainable development.
In 2012, $160 million was allocated for economic development assistance programs, which were aimed at developing the grantee’s region’s assets in creative ways to bolster economic prosperity. Competitive grants with a ceiling of $1,500,000 were previously awarded to municipal governments for the development of water and sewer infrastructure that allowed for development of industrial and agricultural projects.
EDA grants must be applied for thorough grants.gov, although a listing of grants exists on the EDA’s website.
