On 05/16/2024, at about 5:19 PM, a deputy patrolling in the City of Ithaca conducted a traffic stop on Southwest Park Road.
The occupants of the vehicle were found to be John M. Panek, age 27, and Kandida M. Owens, age 32, both of Ithaca.
A subsequent search led to the deputy confiscating 16 grams of alleged methamphetamine from Panek, and another 2 grams from Owens. Narcotics packaging supplies and other paraphernalia were also located.
Panek was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a Class B Felony and was held for CAP Court later that evening. The Court released him on his own recognizance.
Owens was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a Class A Misdemeanor, and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the City of Ithaca Court on 06/06/2024 at 9:00 AM.
