Tompkins County and City of Ithaca facilities, along with Downtown Ithaca stores, to be lit with green during the week to show visible support for the Veterans across Tompkins County. Operation Greenlight uses the color green to symbolize hope, renewal, and wellbeing.

        Join decorated Army veteran Colonel Greg Gadson (Ret.) as he tells the remarkable and inspiring story of how he navigated extreme obstacles in his 26-year military career. Hear about the missions he served in, including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Kuwait—and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where an improvised explosive device attack cost him both legs above the knees and normal use of his right arm and hand. And find out how he overcame these obstacles and rose to the position of Garrison Commander of Fort Belvoir, overseeing the daily operations of more than 50,000 military personnel and employees. You'll even be able to get in on the conversation when you submit a question at registration or a live Q&A session during the event.

    - Registration required   
      Hear members of the Syracuse Veterans’ Writing Group read original literary work recounting their lives in and out of the military. Featuring readings by members of the Syracuse Veterans’ Writing Group: Robert Brewer, Dr. Bill Cross, Shannon Kennedy, Richard Rodriguez, Lee Savidge, Jennifer-Rebeccah Williams, and Don Western. The moderators are Ivy Kleinbart and Eileen E. Schell, the co-leaders of the Veterans’ Writing Group and SU faculty

10. 8p, The Falling and the Rising,
    - Broadcast on WSKG
    This Tri-Cities Opera broadcast comes from the the U.S. Army Field Band and centers on the healing of soldier injured by an IED, just after she sends home a video message for her daughter's 13th birthday. The operatic soldier's odyssey is based on real-life interviews with wounded soldiers. It was originally performed live in Binghamton at the Broome County Forum Theatre in September 2021.

The Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) will host its annual Harvest Fest Dinner. Dinners will be PICK-UP ONLY at GIAC this year. Dinner will consist of turkey and all the trimmings or vegetarian option. Dinner is FREE to all.
