Project CARE is a friendly visiting program that provides in-home support to family caregivers as well as direct help to frail, homebound older adults. Project CARE volunteers provide weekly visits and support older adults and caregivers in a variety of ways according to their needs. Volunteers may choose to assist in the following ways:
- Friendly visiting
- Errands
- Grocery shopping
- Light housekeeping
- Light yard work
- Respite for caregivers
Project CARE does not send volunteers to provide respite in situations where hands-on personal care or medical care is needed. In those instances, Project CARE may arrange to send an aide from an area home care agency to give a few hours of respite to caregivers on a weekly basis.
