Tompkins County has a new mass notification system and is replacing Swift 911 with Tompkins County SIREN.
SIREN, or Safety & Incident Real-Time Emergency Notifications, is a free service that will allow residents to receive alerts via phone, text, and email during emergency situations. The system will send alerts based on location, and will be used by local villages, towns, and the City of Ithaca to communicate with residents.
Sign up at https://www.tompkinscountyny.gov/SIREN, or text SIREN to 67283. Please contact Geoff Dunn, Community Preparedness Coordinator, at gdunn@tompkins-co.org, with any questions.
