County Clerk - Civil

The County Clerk is the Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts.  The County Clerk's Office is responsible for maintaining the court files for civil and criminal felony cases.

How do I search the records for civil and criminal felony filings?

The Tompkins County Index to felony names is not open to the public.  The fee is $5.00 for every two-year period or fraction thereof, so a 7 year search is $20.00 for each name.  The fee must be submitted with the request.

Please include email addresses on Cover Letters.

Civil records are open to the public with a few exceptions.  Searches can be done in person, through the mail ,email or use our online records search (when the search criteria box comes up, select case name or case number).
