Rabies Vaccination Drive Through Clinics Announced for Spring 2021-03-30

The Tompkins County Health Department (TCHD) announces two spring drive-through rabies clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets that will be held in April and May of 2021. The clinics will be held from 10AM-1PM on April 24th and May 22nd, at the TCAT Bus Garage, 737 Willow Avenue, Ithaca.

TCHD sponsored spring clinics typically held in the towns of Lansing, Danby, Enfield, and Ithaca, as well as the clinic held at the SPCA Adoption Center will not take place in 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 response.

Both spring drive-through clinics will be able to vaccinate the same number of pets as are typically vaccinated during the five town spring clinics. Call the Health Department at (607) 274-6688 for assistance with registration or to be placed on a wait list if all appointments are full.

Special COVID-19 precautions will be in place for this clinic to ensure the safety of staff and attendees. Please note:

  • All dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier, all cats and ferrets must be in a carrier to attend the clinic.
  • Mask are required for attendees at the clinic.
  • Households with family members in COVID quarantine or isolation at the time of the clinic should call to reschedule for a later clinic date.
  • Attendees will remain in their vehicle until staff request pet for vaccination.

Proof of prior vaccination is required to receive a three-year certificate for cats and dogs. If there is no proof of prior vaccination, a one-year certificate will be issued. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.
