Minutes

Present: Jan, Vicki, Fernando, Yael, Margot, Nicole, David, Jen, Lois, and Sue

NEXT CYCC MEETING:  Wednesday, June 15, at 3.30 p.m.

 

Parade Preparation:

  • We need to get thirty pinwheels (Vicki will get them; cost ~$30)
  • Kristen and Michael are handling the bus (to be put together the day before)
  • David is taking care of the banner (it is at Kinko's), as well as a paper banner in support of the Mayor's Healthy City Initiative
  • Bookmarks: 
  • Sue brought a sample T-shirt; they will cost about $7 to (Sue Powell)  BRING YOUR $7 TO THE PARADE FOR SUE!
  • Advertisement for bike valet:
  • Music ideas:  "Bicycle Built for Two," "These Boots Are Made for Walking," saxophone and soprano trombone, guitar (PLEASE EMAIL THE LISTSERVE WITH ANY TRANSPORTATION SONGS!)
  • Dragon:  carry it with sticks (David)
  • Potential parade order:  banner, bus, dragon, TCAT bus "Feel a little dragon?  Catch the breeze!"
  • Bike Valet Parking, Sunday:
    • Location:  south of kid's playground, near the road
    • Jen is borrowing snow fence and stakes to fence in the area
    • Banner holders to go on the road (as people will be biking there)
    • We have people for the first half, and not enough for the second half (folks from RIBS may help)...  there is nothing definite yet.
    • Ideas for ID:  sign-in, wrist bands, coat check tags
    • Publicity!!!!! It's in the parade, it's in the program, what else can we do?  Also, when peopole buy their pin, they will be told to walk, bike, or take the bus on Sunday.
    • Conclusion:  we'll see how things go this year and be prepared to work out the kinks for next year

 

The Parade Itself:

  • Our line-up number is 69.
  • We are lining up on Washington Park
  • Line-up time is 6.00 p.m.
  • Parade starts at 7.00 p.m.
  • Route:  East on Buffalo Street, then south on Cayuga Street, then West on State Street to Corn Street (where it ends).
  • Stay 15-20 feet behind the group in front of you
  • Hints:  music, energy, banner
  • Best view is along West Buffalo

 

Other notes:

  • The gentleman from TCAT has offered to help us/ collaborate with us in the future.
