Attendance: Lois Chaplin,
Jennifer Dotson, Nicole Tedesco, Kent Johnson, Tania Schuler,
Yael Levitte, Chris Brouwer
- Went over proposed meeting dates - seemed OK ... Dec. 15,
Jan. 10
- Debriefed on Family Reading Partnership: Great event; super
attendance (2000+ people??); kids loved the books
- Safe Routes to School - Follow up with Ms. Moresco (sp?);
possibly form a subgroup to track this issue; what legal obstacles
may be involved?
- Newsletter - everyone was wildly enthusiastic about the newly
released newsletter; conversation about how to disseminate the
newsletter
- Those in attendance respectfully observed a moment of silence
to mourn the passing (assisted passing) of the faux TCAT bus.
- There was some discussion about how best to advertise the
Transportation Teas - was this issue resolved??
- TCAT - Should the CYCC attend to issues relating to TCAT bus
service? i.e. advocate for higher capacity bike racks on the
buses; bike racks and shelters, etc. at bus stops; other issues??
This issue is still outstanding.
- CYCC should follow up with the proposals for the revised City
of Ithaca snow-on-sidewalk clearing and citation protocols.
Perhaps CYCC and BPAC should work jointly on this follow-up.
- Ideas for future events: Biking with the Mayor; Wheelchair
Stroll (although, Wheelchair Cruise may be better as "stroll"
denotes walking)
Reminders:
1st Transportation Tea on 11/21 5-7pm at Autumn Leaves Used
Books - Theme "Car-free Shopping"
Next CYCC meeting ... Dec. 15 3:30-5:00pm at the Old Jail, 125
