Note-taker: Jan

Next Meeting: November 4
This meeting will be devoted to finalizing CYC exhibit for the Family
Reading Partnership event, Nov. 12 (Saturday).

Spreading the Message of CYC
1. Transportation Teas/Salons:
We discussed how to host informal gatherings for walker/biker/scooter
enthusiasts who aren’t necessarily interested in regular CYC meetings.
Jennifer will go ahead with this idea, planning and hosting the first one
to get the ball rolling.

2. CYC Newsletter:
Jennifer circulated the draft of the inaugural issue of CYC Newsletter.

3. Placing news in the Ithaca Journal:
The Ithaca Journal runs a "family" section every Tuesday, edited by Debbie
Miller, who works on the Metro section with Editor Roger Dupuis. Deadline
for submissions is Friday, and if we submit a week in advance, Debbie will
see to printing announcements, etc., in various sections of the paper.
Contact: 274-9257 or dsmiller@ithacajournal.com

4. It was suggested that we plan meeting dates further in advance so that
more people have a chance to attend.

Car-Share
Emmy is eager to invigorate a car-share program in Ithaca. We’ll pursue
this after the Bookfest event.

Walking Bus
Bus will be transferred from Yael’s garage to the BookFest site to be used
for the Nov. 12 event.

Family Reading Partnership Event, Nov. 12
1. The objective is to have something to attract children/parents and
something to hand out.
2. Current idea is to play a transportation-alphabet game. Details will
be worked out at the next meeting, which will be devoted solely to
planning this exhibit.

Meeting adjourned at 5:30.
