Tompkins County Sheriff's Administrative Offices Closed Until Further Notice

The Administrative Offices of the Tompkins County Sheriff, including the Civil and Records Divisions, will be closed until further notice in line with efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The following functions of the Sheriff’s Office are suspended at this time:

-Pistol permit transactions

-Sheriff Identifications

-Background Checks

-Civil payments (In person payments are suspended, you can mail a certified check or money order to the Sheriff’s Office at 779 Warren Road, Ithaca, NY 14850)

-Request for copies of reports – Please mail request with a copy of your government issued ID to the above address. In a cover letter please include what records you are requesting, your mailing address, and a contact phone number for you.

-Eviction Proceedings – Per the NYS Unified Court System, all eviction proceedings are suspended statewide.
