The Tompkins County Community Services Board (CSB) has vacancies on its three subcommittees and invites interested candidates to apply. The Board encourages individuals to apply who seek public involvement in mental health issues, substance use disorders, and development disabilities impacting our community.
The subcommittees have 9 members each and members serve four-year terms. Applicants must be 18 years of age, a resident of Tompkins County, and a U.S. citizen. The subcommittees meet once a month for approximately one and a half hours at the Mental Health Department, 201 E Green St., Ithaca, or currently via Zoom.
The following subcommittees have openings:
- Substance Use Subcommittee: 1 vacancy
- Developmental Disabilities Subcommittee: 3 vacancies
- Mental Health Subcommittee: 2 vacancies
To indicate interest in serving on one of the subcommittees, applicants must complete an Advisory Board Application form. The form may be obtained from the County Legislature office, located at the Governor Daniel D. Tompkins Building (Old Court House), entrance is on the Dewitt Park side of the building, 121 E. Court Street, Ithaca. The form is also available for download here.

After the application is submitted, candidates may be interviewed prior to recommendation by the CSB to the County Legislature for approval.
