On October 11th, 2024, at approximately 8:55 P.M., the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office responded to Cemetery Lane in the Town of Groton for a reported personal injury accident. Upon arrival, deputies located a one-car rollover. The sole occupant and operator of the vehicle, 21-year-old Zachary Brafman of Cortland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the McLean Fire Department, Freeville Fire Department, Groton Ambulance, and the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.
