The Tompkins County Legislature, without dissent, Tuesday night confirmed the appointment by County Administrator Jason Molino of Dr. Kenneth Clarke to be the permanent director of the Tompkins County Office of Human Rights.
Dr. Clarke has served as Interim Director of OHR since May 2018, and prior to that, he was Special Advisor to the department. Clarke was one of three finalists for the position.
In announcing the appointment, County Administrator Molino said he felt "Dr. Clarke's human and civil rights background along with community history and engagement over the past 20 years will continue to serve the community well in the future."
Following the Legislature's confirmation, the permanent appointment is effective immediately.
