What is SYEP?
The Summer Youth Employment Program provides fun, educational summer work experiences for youth ages 14-20 in Tompkins County. As a participant, you will have support and guidance from youth staff and participate in workshops on work readiness, labor laws, health and safety (including limiting your exposure to COVID19), financial literacy, resumes and cover letters, interview prep, and more. SYEP participants earn $11.80 per hour, and may work up to 30 hours per week for 6-8 weeks, as funding allows. Youths with disabilities are encouraged to apply!

Youth Worker Eligibility Requirements:

Ages 14-20 on August 12, 2020

A Resident of Tompkins County

Income Eligible (TANF Recipient or household income within guidelines - see chart on page 4 of our application)

Important Update 7/30/2020: SYEP has received additional funding this year! If you were on our Waiting List, you will be contacted in the next week with further instructions. If you have not applied yet, we have re-opened our youth application. Please apply by Sunday, August 9. Youths who start working in mid-August can continue working until September 30th through SYEP.
