Tompkins County Announces Search for the Next County Attorney

Tompkins County is recruiting candidates for the role of County Attorney. The County Attorney plays a crucial role in the organization, providing counsel to the County Legislature, Administration, and various departments and advisory boards on wide range of legal matters. The County Attorney is frequently called upon to solve complex problems and navigate legal questions of great interest to the organization and the community at large. 

The County Attorney also directs and manages all aspects of the County Attorney’s office including case referrals, assignments, and staffing. The County Attorney obtains outside counsel and resources in the event that additional expertise is needed on a topic. The County Attorney’s work helps shape the legal landscape of Tompkins County and contributes to the wider community as well as the government organization.
