2023 Tompkins County Departmental Accomplishments Presented to the Legislature

Tompkins County Administrator Lisa Holmes presented accomplishments from the organization’s nearly 30 departments during the January 16 meeting of the Legislature. Holmes overviewed the County’s roles and responsibilities in the areas of: Administration; Health and Human Services; Public Safety; Facilities and Infrastructure; Housing and Economic Development; Budget, Capital, and Personnel; Government operations; and Planning, Energy, and Environmental Quality.

Administrator Holmes remarked that “This presentation scratches the surface of the day-to-day work of our County staff and offices do for the community. Our departments are keenly focused on how best to serve the community and enhance the County’s programs and services, you’ll see that reflected in innovative programs and the growing numbers of people served. Kudos to our County employees who carry out this work and serve our community well.”

Chair of the Tompkins County Legislature Dan Klein said, “It’s just awesome to hear the scope of what we do, what we try to do, what we’ve accomplished, and what we still have left to go. That’s an organization I would like to work for.”
