From the Director regarding COVID-19:

Tompkins County staff are working tirelessly to help protect residents from the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our County has launched numerous defensive measures in accordance with requirements and mandates from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Tompkins County Administrator Jason Molino, and Tompkins County Legislature Chairwoman Leslyn McBean-Clairborne.

For activities held with or sponsored by this County’s Department of Veterans Affairs, the immediate impact is the cancellation of this month’s sessions of the Veterans Coffeehouse and Warrior Writers. The Coffeehouse would normally take place this Thursday, March 19, while the next session of Warrior Writers would be next Thursday, March 26. As soon as we’re able, we’ll get these events back on our calendar and let everyone know.

An additional change for, hopefully, a short term will be the requirement of appointments only for the Department of Veterans Services. For Veterans or family members needing to inquire about Veterans-specific services, please call and leave a brief but detailed message at 607.274.5920 or submit a request via this website's Contact Us page.

To learn more about Tompkins County’s response to the pandemic, please visit the County’s page dedicated to information about 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Additionally, Health Alert Updates can be on the website of the County's Health Department

Be well and please take care of each other,
J.R. Clairborne
