A free workshop titled The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease will be held Monday, October 30, 12:00-1:00 PM at the Tompkins County Office for the Aging, 214 W. Martin Luther King, Jr./State Street, Ithaca. It is open to anyone concerned about a relative or friend with memory impairment.
Staff from the Alzheimer's Association will discuss the difference between normal aging and dementia, explore how the brain works, go through the different stages of Alzheimer's disease, and give an overview of the programs and services offered by the Alzheimer's Association. Staff from the Office for the Aging will also be present to share information about other local programs and services to support families caring for loved ones with dementia.
