DWI Arrest

On February 6th, 2019 at 1:38 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies received a report from a concerned citizen of a possible impaired driver on Trumansburg Road in the Town of Uysses.  Deputies responded to the location and located the described vehicle, a black Mazda sedan.  Deputies then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle after observing traffic law violations and interviewed the driver, Robert Vancuren, age 24 of Ithaca, NY.  During the course of their investigation, deputies observed signs of intoxication and conducted a DWI investigation which resulted in VANCURENS arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.  

VANCUREN was charged with Failure to Dim Headlamps (Violation), Driving While Intoxicated (Unclassified Misdemeanor) and Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or Greater (Unclassified Misdemeanor).  Vancuren was processed and released on traffic tickets ordering his return to the Town of Ulysses Court at a later date.
