February 11th, 2020 - DWAI Drugs Arrest

On February 11th, 2020 at 6:15 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Lounsberry Road, Town of Caroline on a suspicious vehicle complaint.  Deputies located the vehicle and driver upon their arrival.  The driver was identified as Alexander J. Holgate, age 42 of Caroline, NY.  During the course of their investigation, deputies observed signs of impairment and suspicion that Holgate was under the influence of drugs.  Deputies conducted a DWI Investigation which resulted in Holgates arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  A probable cause search also resulted in drug paraphernalia located inside the vehicle.
Holgate was charge with Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument (Class A Misdemeanor), Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Driving While Vehicle is Suspended/Revoked (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Unclassified Misdemeanor) and Operating Without Insurance (Traffic Infraction).  Holgate was released on appearance tickets and traffic tickets ordering him to return to the Town of Caroline Court on February 25th, 2020 at 12:00 PM.
