On March 10th, 2019, at about 08:50 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were on patrol on Danby Road in the Town of Danby.  Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Danby Road on a Nissan sedan for having inadequate headlamps and during a roadside interview, detected the odor of marijuana.  Follwing a lawful search of the vehicle, deputies located what was determined to be over eight ounces of marijuana.  The registered owner/operator of the vehicle, Michael A. Rose, age 31 of Candor, New York, was charged with the headlight violation and Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Third Degree (Class E Felony).  Rose is set to reappear in Danby Town Court at a later date.
