The Ithaca Police Department and the New York State Police assisted in conducting an extensive search of the residence and surrounding area. This included the use of Tompkins-Ithaca SRT and a New York State Police helicopter.

As the search progressed, the Sheriff’s Office in consultation with the Lansing School District, a decision was made to delay school for two hours to continue the search while preventing students in the area from being exposed to police activity while awaiting bus pick-up.
