Programs that meet the criteria identified in the request for proposals will be evaluated by the department and the Youth Services Advisory Board subject to final approval by the Tompkins County Legislature.

Proposals are due by 3pm on Friday, May 13, and will be reviewed with recommendations and notification of final awards at the end of June. To read the request for proposals, visit: https://www.bidnetdirect.com/new-york/tompkins-county

Applicants must specify how their programs address the Achieving Youth Results framework including the following goals:

  • Youth will be prepared for their eventual economic self-sufficiency.
  • Children and youth will have optimal physical and emotional health.
  • Children will leave school prepared to live, learn, and work in their community.
  • Children and youth will demonstrate commitment to their community as contributing members of their families, schools, and neighborhood
  • Families will provide children with safe, stable and nurturing environments.
  • Tompkins County will provide children, youth, and families with healthy, safe, and thriving environments.

Director of the Tompkins County Youth Services Department Kate Shanks-Booth stated, “We are proud to be able to support agencies in our community that serve youth and expand opportunities for families and young people. I encourage local agencies to consider what programming they offer or can plan to offer that best meets the goals and outcomes laid out in our Achieving Youth Results framework.”
