Ithaca Airport Celebrates 4th Annual Airport Day Sept. 15

Friday, August 17, 2018

Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH) is pleased to announce our 4th annual Airport Day festivities on Saturday, September 15th, 2018. Airport Day is open to everyone and entry is free. (Some activities, however, may include a participation cost.)

Airport Day officially begins at 10a.m., but our Runway 5k (one lap around ITH’s runway) will usher in the event, from 9 to 10 a.m. Throughout Airport Day, The East Hill Flying Club will provide introductory airplane rides, and a historical WWII B17 plane will also offer rides and tours. The Great Ithaca Bake-Off, organized by the Rotary Club of Ithaca/Sunrise, runs from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes. Ithaca’s very own WWI Thomas-Morse “Tommy” biplane will be on display by the Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation, as it gears up for its centennial flight on September 29th.

With delicious food trucks, fun activities for kids and parents alike and, of course, a wide array of airplanes, ITH’s Airport Day is a wonderful, family-friendly way to connect with the community and celebrate Ithaca’s rich aviation heritage.
