Come Together Event this Sunday November 3

The Tompkins County Office of Human Rights invites the public to attend “Come Together” at First Presbyterian Church, 315 N. Cayuga Street, on Sunday 3 November 2024, 3:00 P.M. This free event comprises three panel discussions:

  • The Importance of Voting Rights

Panelists: Dr. Margaret Washington, Christian Flournoy and Dr. Sean Eversley-Bradwell. Moderated by Gavin Mosley.

  • Criminal Justice Reform and Re-entry

Panelists: Taili Mumgabee, Ithaca Police Chief Thomas Kelly, Willie Owens.

Moderated by C’iality Hackett.

  • The Rights of Women/Other Underserved Populations

Panelists: Dr. Jada Hamilton, Larry Roberts, Tilia Cordata.

Moderated by Dierdre Hay.

Ken Glover will talk about the affidavit ballot and how to request one if a registered voter’s name does not appear on the voter rolls. Music will be provided by student singers from Cornell.

Come Together emphasizes that civic engagement does not begin and end with voting. It continues in future collaborative efforts that benefit the common good and expand the understanding and implementation of human rights.
