Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)

World Aids Day RibbonHIV is a virus spread through body fluids that affects specific cells of the immune system called CD4 cells or T cells. Over time, HIV can destroy so many cells that the body cannot fight off infections and disease. When this happens, HIV infection leads to AIDS.

The only way to know if you are infected is to be tested.

Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an evidence-based, biomedical intervention with proven efficacy to prevent HIV infection among individuals at highest risk for HIV. Based on the results of several large scale trials, and a growing body of experience in clinical practice, PrEP is a safe and critical resource in our HIV prevention toolbox.
