Rabid Bat at Montgomery Park Elm St in Dryden

 

(Ithaca, N.Y. - July 1, 2014)  It was reported that in the afternoon (1:30 -2:30 pm) on Monday June 30, three young children were seen poking a downed bat with sticks in the tree line at Montgomery Park along Elm Street in the Village of Dryden. If anyone has had contact with a bat at Montgomery Park in Dryden, immediately contact the Tompkins County Health Department - Environmental Health Division at 607-274-6688 to discuss the possibility of exposure to rabies, which is a very serious and deadly disease.
