Ithaca College School of Music is again offering its Summer Music Academy - two residential instructional programs for young musicians who have completed grades 4 through 12. Taught by Ithaca College faculty and top music educators from across the country, the High School and Intermediate Divisions will provide a creative and supportive environment for young adults to grow as musicians and people. The High School Division is open to students who are entering grades 10 to 12. Private lessons will be offered for an additional fee. Instruction for intermediate and advanced music students will offer opportunities to perform in large as well as chamber ensembles, receive instruction in masterclasses and music, and take non-music courses designed to prepare students to enter college. The areas of study will include band (wind ensemble), vocal, orchestra and guitar programs. The Intermediate Division: The band and chorus programs are open to students who are entering grades 7 to 9. The orchestra program is available to students who have completed grades 5 to 9. Private lessons will be offered for an additional fee. Instruction for beginning and intermediate students will offer opportunities to perform in large and chamber ensembles and receive instruction in master classes and an array of music courses designed to provide a quality summer musical experience to young musicians.
