Information on NEW Fee Structure Fees for camps and programs are listed with a “Recreation Partnership Discount” or a “City Resident Discount”. All camps and programs are open to everyone, but the fee you pay is based on where you reside. You are eligible for the “Recreation Partnership Discount (RP)” if you live in the Towns of Caroline, Danby, Dryden, Enfield, Groton, Ithaca, Newfield and Ulysses (including all students in Trumansburg schools), City of Ithaca and Village of Lansing. Contributions by these municipalities keep fees lower for residents. You are eligible for the “City Resident Discount (CD)” only if you live in the City of Ithaca. If in doubt, please call for fee clarification. KEY: NM = non member; CD = City of Ithaca Discount; RP = Recreation Partnership Discount Inclusion Services at Cass and Stewart Park Day Camps, available for children with disabilities who require an aide. Cass Park Day Camp

Day Camp

A half or full day camp with lots of great activities. Campers participate in swim lessons, arts & crafts lessons, drama, special events, recreation and games and more! Full days: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Ages: 5 to 8

Schedule: Session 1: July 2-13 9 (no camp 7/4), Session 2: July 16-27, Session 3: July 30 - August 10, Session 4: August 13 – 17 (one week).

Fees: $460 NM/session full days; $250 NM/half-day sessions (am or pm). $230 RP/session full days; $125 RP/half-day sessions (am or pm). Before and after camp care is available: 7:30-9:00 a.m. for $22/session and 4:00-5:30 p.m. for $22 /session.

Summer Youtheatre

IMPROVMANIA

Theater

Think on your feet and create theatre by making it up as you go along. Play games like the stars of Whose Line Is It Anyway and the IYB’s own Tin Can Fantasy Factory.

Tae Kwon Do

Sports

Tae Kwon Do is a martial art which dates back centuries and means “the art of kicking and punching”. This martial art is a great way to stay fit or get into shape. This will be a combined beginner and intermediate class. Meets Mondays and Wednesdays; Beginners: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Intermediate: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Held at the Ithaca Youth Bureau.

Art Camp

Art

for youth ages 8 - 12 at the Ithaca Youth Bureau. This program will offer a variety of art activities including creating in clay, painting, drawing and environmental art. Instructor: Marcia Acerra.

Stewart Park Day Camp

Day Camp

(special programming for 14 yr. olds). A half or full day camp with sports programming and tennis instruction as well as the SPDC favorites of canoeing, sailing, archery, crafts, dancing, fields games, drama, nature, swimming at Cass Park, The Special and more! Camp home base is Stewart Park-Large Pavilion. Campers will ride T-CAT buses to Cass Park for swimming every other day. Additional fees may apply for the 14 yr. old camper program for field trips and special events.

Summer Music Program

SUMMER BAND AND ORCHESTRA: This program is designed to encourage students to continue individual and ensemble skill development on their instruments during the summer months. The program will consist of four ensembles: a beginning band, a beginning orchestra, an advanced band and an advanced orchestra. Students must have their own instruments and be able to read music. Students interested in beginning ensembles need 1-3 years experience or NYSSMA level one or two. Advanced students must have 3 years and up or NYSSMA level three and up. For youth in grades 4 – 12. Meets at Lincoln Hall, Cornell University. Directors: Michael Allen and Katherine Allen.

Ages: 9 to 18

Schedule: Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays June 26 – July 26. Class 1: Beginning Orchestra 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. Class 2: Advanced Band 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. Class 3: Advanced Orchestra 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. Class 4: Beginning Band 7:30 – 8:15 p.m.

Learn to Sail

sailing

The Cornell Sailing School and East Shore Sailing Marina present one-week courses to teach sailing. All skill levels are welcome; participants must be able to swim the length of a pool (25 yards). Held at East Shore Sailing Marina.

Ages: 9 to 16

Schedule: Session 1: June 25-29; 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 - 4:30pm. Session 2: July 2-6 (4 days only); 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 - 4:30 pm. Session 3: July 9-13; 1-4:30 pm. Session 4: July 16-20; 1 - 4:30 pm. Session 5: July 23-27; 1-4:30 pm. Session 6: July 30 - August 3; 1-4:30pm. Session 7: August 6-10; 8:30 a.m. -12 p.m. or 1:00-4:30pm. Session 8: August 13-17; 8:30 a.m. -12 p.m. or 1:00-4:30pm.

Soccer Camp

Sports

for girls and boys ages 10 – 15 at Cass Park. There will be an emphasis on skills development, but also on playing soccer and having fun. Some benchmark measurements of individual abilities to show progress and to allow campers to see how they have improved, and where they need to focus in their own development. Beginners and advanced players are welcome, we make an effort to cater to a wide range of skills. There will be scrimmages/games every day, all with a sense of fun and playfulness. Specific skills to be developed: kicking with both feet, penalty kicks, trapping, dribbling, moving without the ball, passing and more. STEWART PARK CAMPER IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM

A training program that teaches 15 yr. old campers the art of camp counseling and instruction, the CIT Program gives older campers the opportunity to gain leadership skills that will benefit them both in and out of camp. Their day will be filled with group learning, discussions, guest speakers, and hands on learning experience where each CIT is paired with Senior Camp counselors and instructors. As part of the program, CITs are required to try different program specialty areas to develop skills and are put into real and simulated problem solving situations. As a group the CIT’s also plan and lead programs throughout the summer. Successful CIT candidates will be invited back to work the weeks of August 1st and August 15th. As a reward for successful completion they will be paid a stipend for the work they do each week. Spots in this program are limited. Applicants must provide references from two adults when registering and fill out a part-time seasonal application.

Ages: 15 to 15

Schedule: The program runs from July 2 - 27, 8:45 am to 4:15pm. Successful CIT candidates will be invited back to work the weeks of August 1st and August 15th. As a reward for successful completion they will be paid a stipend for the work they do each week. Spots in this program are limited.
