Stories and hands-on gardening for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Garden Chefs – 4 day program

Gardening

Love to cook, love to eat, we’ll be doing it all outside at the Children’s Garden. Build a solar oven and explore creative ways to cook outside. Learn about the ingredients you’re using and where they come from. Perfect your dice, chop, and julienne. Cook up fabulous recipes all week long, all outside in the Garden. Friendly competitions let you test out your skills and develop your own tasty recipes. Children entering Grades 1 - 5

Ages: 5 to 10

Schedule: August 13 - 16; 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., wrap around care 8:30 – 4:00.

Fees: self determined sliding scale, non-members: $190-230; members: $175-200. Scholarships available.

Art in the Garden: Color Explosion!

Join us for a mini camp experience, two days of intense artistic experiences with an emphasis on color. Kids will have plenty of opportunity to discover their muse, find their inspiration, and take their projects from concept to masterpiece! A great addition to our Plants, Pallets, Presto! Camp but also awesome on its own. Youth entering Grades 1 - 5.

Schedule: August 1 & 2; 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., wrap around care 8:30 – 4:00.

Garden Chefs International Mini Camp

Perfect your dice, chop, and julienne while cooking up recipes with an international flair, all outside in the Garden. A great follow-up to our 4 day Garden Chefs camp but also awesome on its own. Art in the Garden: Plants, Pallets, Presto!

Four days full of plant-based artistic pursuits. Kids will have plenty of opportunity to discover their muse, find their inspiration, and take their projects from concept to masterpiece! Individual projects and group creations, big and small will grace the outdoor gallery at the Children’s Garden. Learn about natural dyes, the very first form of photography, cyanotypes, and create living sculptures. Youth entering Grades 1 - 5.

Schedule: June 25 - 28; 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., wrap around care 8:30 – 4:00.

Art in the Garden- 4 day program

Budding scientists, ecologists, biologists and wildlife lovers of all types will have a blast exploring, identifying, and studying the habitats and critters in the Ithaca Children’s Garden’s wild places. Become an entomologist for a day in the wildflower meadow and vegetable garden. Turn your eyes to the sky and your hands to building investigating the bird habitat garden. Go knee deep in mud and muck exploring the wetland. Each day a different adventure. Youth entering Grades 1 - 5.

Schedule: July 16 - 19; 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., wrap around care 8:30 – 4:00.
