Support for New York State's Clean Indoor Air Act is high, according to the state's Adult Tobacco Survey. More than 77% of New Yorkers favor the law
(63.6%) or have no opinion about it (14%). Fewer than one of
four New Yorkers disapprove of the new law. Nearly half of smokers
(44.8%) either favored the law or are indifferent to it. Source:

2003. Few NYS adults plan to change their bar patronage patterns because of the Clean Indoor Air Act survey shows. Only 14% of NYS adults plan to go out less as a result of the ban on smoking in bars. Six out of seven adults plan to go out more, or make no change in their patronage of bars.
