Information about Ithaca’s new outdoor smoking regulations available throughout August
Ithaca, N.Y., July 28, 2010 — Last April, Ithaca’s Common Council passed a city ordinance adopting outdoor smoking regulations to its municipal code. On August 1, 2010, the new city ordinance will be going into effect making portions of the Commons, City parks, TCAT shelters, playgrounds, public events, and other public outdoor areas smoke-free.
Tobacco Free Tompkins staff will be on the Commons on the following dates to provide information about the ordinance as well as information on how to quit.
Monday August 2nd, from 11:00-2:00 under the Bernie Milton Pavilion
Wednesday August 4th, from 11:00-2:00 under the Cayuga St. Pavilion
Friday August 6th, from 11:00-2:00 under the Aurora St. Pavilion
Monday August 9th, from 3:00-6:00 under the Aurora St. Pavilion
Monday August 16th, from 3:00-6:00 under the Cayuga St. Pavilion
Monday August 23rd, from 11:00-2:00 under the Aurora St. Pavilion
All are invited to celebrate the new Tobacco Free Zone on Thursday August 26th at 5:00pm under the Bernie Milton Pavilion before the Sim Redmond Band comes on to play in the last of the M&T Bank Downtown Summer Concert Series.
