Get a Flu Shot Before the Holidays

The Tompkins County Health Department will be holding a flu immunization clinic at its location on Harris B. Dates Drive.

The clinic will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.

Appointments are necessary and may be made online at the Department’s website: www.tompkins-co.org/flu or by calling 274-6616 from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The clinic is for adults only – people nineteen years of age and above.

“It’s not too late to get a flu shot,” says Karen Bishop, community health nurse supervisor. “Flu tends to peak in the Ithaca area in January and February.” It takes about two weeks for immunity to develop after being immunized. She adds, “Another good reason to get a shot is to be protected from getting the flu during holiday and winter travel.”

The cost is $30. Those with Medicare should bring their Medicare Part B cards.
