December 8th Another Chance to Get a Flu Shot
Ithaca, NY (December 4, 2006) – It’s
not too late to get a flu shot! The Tompkins County Health Department
will hold another flu clinic in the storefront next to Kay Jewelers
at Pyramid Mall this Friday, December 8th from 4:00PM to 6:00
PM for anyone 19 years of age and older on a first come first
serve basis. No appointment is necessary. Enter the mall through
the Old Navy entrance. The cost of the flu vaccination is $30.
Medicare Part B participants should bring their Medicare cards;
TCHD accepts Medicare Part B as full payment.
Flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chances of getting
the flu. And those who get vaccinated also protect their loved
ones and people they come in contact with on a daily basis at
work or at school. Most people recover completely from the flu
but they may be sick for a week or two and be unable to work,
attend school, or participate in social activities. The flu
can cause fever, sore throat, headache, chills, fatigue, cough,
and muscle aches.
