Support Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention in Tompkins County

Our Roadmap to Health: TCWH Launches Community Health Survey

Tompkins County Whole Health (TCWH) invites the community to participate in our Community Health Survey, an opportunity to add your insights to the Tompkins County Community Health Improvement process (CHI Tompkins). The Community Health Survey is open to Tompkins County residents, ages 18 and over. Survey results are anonymous. The survey will run through February 27, 2025.

Forecasters say a blast of frigid Arctic air will likely hit our region early next week, with the coldest day on Tuesday. In addition, some wind will help send the ‘feels-like’ temperatures plunging to well below zero. Take necessary precautions to protect against frostbite and hypothermia when outdoors.

TC Social Services Commissioner Announces Retirement in Summer 2025

The Commissioner of Tompkins County Department of Social Services (DSS), Kit Kephart, has announced that she will retire in July of this year, after nearly eight years of dedicated service in that role and 25 years with the Department.

The County will launch a nationwide search for the next Social Services Commissioner and the vacancy will be listed on the County’s Human Resources website.
