County Issues RFQ from Emergency Shelter Management Providers

Code Blue Shelter Will Be Closed After April 15

The last night of operation for the Code Blue shelter site at 300 North Tioga Street in Ithaca will be April 15, 2025. This temporary location was opened on November 24, 2024 to provide shelter for unhoused individuals during nights with freezing temperatures.

County/City Community Agencies Funding Application Open Through May 8

Tompkins County has announced that applications are open through May 8 for the 2026 County/City Community Agencies funding request process. Not-for-profit agencies serving the health and human services needs in the community are eligible to apply. The Human Services Coalition reviews applications and makes funding recommendations to the Tompkins County Legislature.

Highlights of the 4/1/25 Tompkins County Legislature Meeting

Per the County Charter, the Tompkins County Legislature set the date for a special election to fill the seat of Susan Currie (District 3 – City of Ithaca), who has resigned her position effective March 31, 2025. The special election will be held on June 24. The successful candidate will fill the seat for the remainder of this year.

Susan Currie Resigned from the Tompkins County Legislature

Susan Currie, who represents District 3 in the City of Ithaca, has announced her resignation, effective March 31, 2025. A special election will be held to fill Currie’s seat for the remainder of the year. The Tompkins County Legislature will set the date for the special election at its April 1 meeting.
