Driving While Intoxicated Arrest - January 11, 2025

On January 11, 2025, at 2:02 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling Millard Hill Road in the Town of Newfield and observed a red Chevrolet pickup truck failing to maintain its lane of travel. The pickup was then observed going off the roadway and into a field, where it eventually got stuck in the snow. Deputies approached the vehicle and interview the driver, Elisabeth A. Knapp, age 30 of Newfield, NY. During their interview, Deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted a DWI investigation which resulted in Knapp's arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. 

Knapp was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18% or Greater (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or Greater (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated - Common Law (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of a  Controlled Substance - Cocaine (Class A Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle - Third (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (Unclassified Misdemeanor), and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law tickets. 

Knapp was ultimately released on an appearance ticket and ordered to return to the Town of Newfield Court at a later date.
