January 29, 2025 - Warrant/Check Fraud Arrest

On January 29, 2025, at 11:03 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle on E. State Street in the City of Ithaca after observing Robert A. Snyder, age 35 of Ithaca, NY.  Snyder held active warrants from this office for his arrest as well as other warrants from other local police agencies.  During their investigation and while speaking with Synder and the passenger, deputies observed drug paraphernalia all throughout the vehicle.  Snyder and the passenger were both detained and a subsequent vehicle search resulted in Deputies finding fraudulent and stolen property.  The fraudulent property consisted of checks written out to Snyder and the stolen property consisted of mail from an address on West Dryden Road.

Deputies subsequently charged Snyder with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny, both Class A Misdemeanors.  Snyder was arraigned on his warrants and new charges and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
