January 17, 2025 - DWI Arrest

On January 17, 2025, at 3:58 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Spencer Road near Hillview Road in the Town of Danby for a one vehicle crash.  Upon arrival, Deputies located a Blue Audi with front end damage and the driver still on scene. The driver was uninjured and was the sole occupant in the crash. The Audi had switched plates attached to it, no insurance, no registration, and no inspection. Through further investigation the driver was determined to be intoxicated and also did not hold a license.  The driver was identified as Thulani M. Ntombela, age 24 of Lansing, NY.  

Ntombela was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with 0.08% BAC or more, improper plates, operating with no insurance, uninspected motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to keep right.  Ntombela was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Danby Court on February 10, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
