Tompkins County 90-Day Appeal Period for the Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs)

The 90-day appeal period for Tompkins County began on January 31, 2024, and closed on April 30, 2024. The next step involves FEMA reviewing those appeals. Once that step is complete, FEMA will issue a Letter of Final Determination for each municipality. The preliminary maps will become final six months after the Letter of Final Determination is issued. A representative from FEMA Region II attended the Tompkins County Council of Governments (TCCOG) meeting on January 25, 2024, to discuss the Tompkins County Appeal Period for the Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). FEMA provided the following documents for reference:
