The Tompkins County legislature unanimously voted to endorse the Strategic Tourism Plan 2021-2027 on March 3, 2020. The plan lays out eight overall goals for tourism development and describes additional goals in fifteen focus areas. Tourism development represents a real opportunity for our county to enhance economic development and our quality of life.
This plan looks ahead to the future of travel and tourism in our region considering emerging topics that will potentially affect this sector. The plan also reflects information gathered from the 2019 Visitor Profile Study(PDF, 5MB) and community engagement efforts.
