Injury from falling is a major risk for older adults and people with disabilities.  Click HERE to review information on how to prevent falls from the Office for the Aging.

The Department of Recycling and Materials Management will be closed Mon., Feb. 20th, for the Presidents’ Day holiday. The Recycling and Solid Waste Center will be open its regular hours, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with no change in curbside recycling collection.

The Health Department is providing flu vaccinations for adults at its building, 55 Brown Road, across from the Airport.  Call 274-6616 to schedule your appointment.  More information

Aging Services Network: Assistant Attorney General to Speak About Frauds and Scams

The next Aging Services Network Meeting will be Friday, December 11th from 12-1 at the NY Connects/Tompkins County Office for the Aging, 214 West Martin Luther King Jr./State St., Ithaca.

Assistant Attorney General, Mike Danaher, will be presenting Smart Seniors – A discussion about scams and frauds that may affect older adults, including how to recognize and protect yourself and others from becoming a victim.

Feel free to bring your lunch; beverages will be available. Aging Services Network meetings are open to people who work in the field of aging and anyone who has an interest in the topic. Carpooling is encouraged. Please RSVP by reply e-mail or by calling the Office for the Aging at 274-5490.
