Subject Arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property

The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office has arrested MARCHANT D. JOLLES, 24 of Ithaca, New York in connection with a larceny from a vehicle that occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday August 8, 2017. At approximately 4:53 AM, JOLLES was observed walking on North Triphammer Road in the Town of Lansing carrying an unidentified object under his arm. When JOLLES was stopped and interviewed by deputies he was also found to be in possession of an electronic device believed to be removed from a vehicle parked at a residence in the Town of Lansing. The electronic device was later confirmed by the owners to be stolen. JOLLES was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Jolles was arraigned in the Village of Cayuga Heights Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $500.00 bail. The investigation is continued by the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.
