On October 6, 2019 at 1:35 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies, assisted by the Cayuga Heights Police Department, responded to Dart Drive in the Town of Lansing for a motor vehicle crash.  Upon arrival deputies located a vehicle that crashed into a large utility pole.  Further investigation into the crash determined that the vehicle was traveling in a westerly direction on Dart Drive, crossed the center line and struck a utility pole on the south side of the roadway.

Deputies located and interviewed the driver.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Heather L. SHEVALIER, age 35 of Lansing, NY.  Deputies arrested SHEVALIER for narcotics possession.  SHEVALIER was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument (Class A Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation) and issued a traffic ticket for Failure to Keep Right.  SHEVALIER was released and is to appear in the Town of Lansing Court at a later date.
