Personal Injury Accident

On February 13th, 2018 at 3:37 PM, deputies with the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office responded to the north entrance of the Shops at Ithaca Mall (N. Triphammer Road and West Graham Road) in the Village of Lansing for a personal injury motor vehicle accident.  Deputies arrived to find that a tractor trailer and sedan were involved in the accident which were both disabled due to their damage.  Deputies interviewed witnesses on scene and investigated the accident once the roadway was shut down.  Deputies determined that the tractor trailer was north bound on N. Triphammer Road and was making a left hand turn onto West Graham Road.  The sedan was traveling south on N. Triphammer Road and collided with the tractor trailer while it was making the left hand turn.

The accident scene closed down the intersection for over two hours.  The cause of the accident has not been determined and no traffic tickets have been issued at this time.  Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police, Lansing Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance.
